The "Made in Britain" trademark is a registered symbol used by British manufacturers to identify products that are substantially manufactured in the United Kingdom. It's a mark of quality and authenticity, signifying that the product adheres to British standards and is produced by skilled British workers.

The "Made in Britain" initiative is overseen by a non-profit organization, Made in Britain, which promotes British manufacturing and helps businesses obtain the trademark. To qualify for the trademark, manufacturers must meet specific criteria, including:

  • Substantial Manufacture: A significant portion of the product's value must be added in the UK, including processes like assembly, finishing, or key component manufacturing.

  • Quality Standards: Products must adhere to British quality and safety standards.

  • Ethical Practices: Manufacturers must follow ethical business practices, including fair labor standards.

The "Made in Britain" trademark has gained significant recognition in recent years, with consumers increasingly seeking out British-made products. It's seen as a symbol of quality, trust, and sustainability, and it can help businesses differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

Ironmongery Compliance & Fire Door Safety

The hardware fitted to our doors is as vital as the door itself—especially for fire doors where safety is paramount. All ironmongery components, such as hinges, locks, closers, and seals, that are required for fire door applications are certified under Certifire approval scheme. This independent third-party certification proves that these items meet rigorous fire safety standards and are fully compliant with UK regulations.

Additionally, all our ironmongery carries the CE or UKAS markings, verifying they have undergone stringent testing and comply with both UK and European performance requirements.

By using only Certifire-approved ironmongery on our fire doors, we ensure that every component contributes effectively to fire containment and smoke control, helping protect lives and property in the event of a fire.

Sustainable Sourcing

At Kent Flush Doors, sustainability is central to our manufacturing philosophy. We carefully source all timber from FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified suppliers, ensuring that the wood we use comes from responsibly managed forests that meet strict environmental, social, and economic standards. This commitment helps preserve biodiversity, protect ecosystems, and support communities dependent on forestry. By choosing sustainably sourced timber, we reduce the environmental footprint of our products while maintaining the high-quality standards our customers expect.
